Our Rhode Island Red chickens are kept in pins that give them access to fresh grass, water and feed everyday. They are fed non-soy, non-gmo feed; they also have access to poultry minerals (Fertrell), grit, and oyster shell (a source of calcium). They are rotated to new grass everyday and spend most of the hot months rotating under shade. They are well taken care of and they produce extremely good quality eggs. Here is an article describing the difference between the different types of egg production from which you can buy eggs.
